Holiday Weight Loss Tips

Do you find it almost impossible to stay conscious and contentious about weight and nutrition during the holidays? Of course you do. More than half of all Americans are overweight: You're not alone.

Cutting calories during the holidays often means skipping meals. This unfortunately slows down your metabolism when you want it to speed up. Don't skip breakfast when you're looking to lose weight, and don't go for the convenience of a 'nutrition bar'.

Candy is an unnecessary treat to buy during the holidays. Christmas is one of those few holidays where your guests will bring candy and sweets as a "thank you" for having them as a guest in your home. You will have plenty of chocolates and homemade sweets to last you through next year. Steer clear of chocolate and sweets.

The holidays are a great time for eating, but try to relax your diet rather than abandoning it all together. Try and eat regular meals as normal and avoid skipping meals in anticipation of over indulging later. do not attend parties on an empty stomach and eat something before you go.

Go sit on a stationary bike at the gym and watch a movie or TV show on your iPhone (you'll be exercising longer and not be bored).

Winter can be dehydrating due to the heating of homes/buildings. I know MY skin and lips always get drier in winter. Drinking water also helps fill you up before your meal and can rehydrate you after a glass of beer or a cocktail. If you don't like drinking cold water when it's cold outside, drink it at room temperature or heat it up.
