Water aerobic exercises, also known in other terms as water fitness, water exercise, water jogging or water aerobics, offer a low-impact and low-risk way of getting into shape that are effective for people who are dealing with joint problems or arthritis.

It is advisable to exercise at least three times a week for 20-30 minutes at a time in order to benefit from your aerobic exercises. Reduce intake of high fat food, sugary food and alcohol to avoid extra calorie intake.

Water aerobics involve moving with rhythm and using dance steps. These movements are done in the water. There are basic, intermediate and advanced exercises that can be implemented. You can use different techniques for your arms and leg movements.

These exercises are mostly low impact kind though there is still a risk that overusing the exercises can easily result in injuries to your muscles and to your joints. So, it is not recommended that you do these exercises more than four times a week.
