Skincare Tips for the Summer

In the summer months, it can be a nightmare, especially for people who have oily skin. In the summer increases of oil secretions and sweat is main culprit. These are deposited on the skin, making it greasy and it attracts dirt and impurities. It loses its luster and is opaque. Cleaning is very important during the summer.
More bugs brings bug bites. Those nasty little bumps that hurt and itch like crazy. But don't do it, don't scratch. I know you're dying to, but scratching can lead to scarring and that's not what you want left behind when summers over. The best deterrent I found was immediately apply an ice cube. After the initial itch goes away apply a calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream. Please remember itching and scratching can cause permanent damage (scarring), don't do it.

Plenty of antioxidants in the diet; use olive oil, fish, citrus fruits like oranges lemons grapes do good. Replenish the loss of minerals through the sweat by correct intake on coconut water for potassium and salted lassi for sodium.

Protect your hair from warm weather, humidity and excess sun exposure to avoid dried, dull, unhealthy hair and split ends. You can use SPF treatment for your hair to protect it from sun and apply a smoothing live-on serum. While on beach try to use a beach umbrella. It is a useful skin care tip as well.

As much as possible, skip wearing makeup. Aside from clogging your pores, it will just trap the oil on your skin which can cause other skin problems such as acne, blackheads and whiteheads. But if you really can't get out of your house without makeup this summer, go for products that are specially formulated for oily skin.

Don't skimp on how much you use. Your skin needs to be well-covered, so use about an ounce if you're exposing most of your body to sunshine. To avoid skin damage when outdoors, please use sunscreen. Those who are prone to acne may shy away from sunscreen thinking that it's too oily but this is not the case. An oil-free, noncomedogenic sunscreen is the perfect solution.

Make sure that you eat several servings of fruit and veggies each day. Fresh fruits and vegetables can help your skin look its healthiest. Additionally, eating healthily will ensure that your stomach is a little smaller for swimsuit season.
