How to Apply Eyeliner

Applying eyeliner to the bottom lash line only is a surefire way to look old. Have you ever noticed women who look like cocker spaniels? There is something to their face that makes you picture that adorable, droopy-eyed critter. What actually happens when applying eyeliner to the lower lash line only is that it pulls the eye downward and makes your eyes look droopy and heavy, instantly adding years to your face?

Liquid eyeliners are recommended to be used and should only be used above the top of the eye lashes, whereas an eye shadow or an eye lining pencil is suggested to be used under the eyes lower lashes. This kind comes usually in a bottle with an application brush, almost similar to an ink. This requires great precision during application, but can be perfected through constant practice.

Pencil eyeliner is the easiest to apply, but they tend to melt and usually won't stay on all day so you will need to set the line with eye shadow on top of the entire line. Since we are using pencil eyeliner, the line can tend to be slightly thicker than we would see if using liquid or gel liners. If that is the look you are going for, wonderful. And if not, we can still use pencil liners to achieve the look you are going for.

The look you are going for is important to consider in how you will apply the eyeliner. Pencil lines of makeup will present a softer look, while liquid lines of makeup will present a more precise look.

Afterwards, to make sure that your eyeliner doesn't smudge, "set" it with powder eye shadow by applying it over the eyeliner. When that's done, pick out two eye shadow colors that are close to or complement your natural skin tone; one light, and one deeper hue.

Understanding the art of makeup is important and sometimes even indispensable for few. To begin with, whenever you think of attending an evening party or a get-together with friends and family, you need to do up your eyes well.

Apply the eyeliner on the lower and upper lids starting at the middle of the eye. If you completely encircle your eye with a liner, it creates a look that may be theatrical. Start in the centre of the lids and apply in an outward stroke. It may help you to imagine that you are following an invisible line as you apply a line to your lower lids under the lash line.

For added eye brightening and highlighting, apply white eyeliner to the inner corner of your eye. Lining the top and bottom lid from the inner corner of your eye out until about a half a centimeter will add some real punch to your eyes without changing your look too much. Your eyes will look brighter and you'll seem more awake and ready to go.
