A runny nose is the result of cold or flu but it can be caused by other factors too. Allergies, air pollution and nasal decongestants can cause a runny or stuffy nose. Honey and Lime:

Mix one tablespoon of honey and 2-3 drops of fresh lime juice in one cup of water. Drink this mixture when warm. Honey relieves a runny nose and cough as well.


Add two tablespoon of salt in a cup of warm water. Now breathe n the steam. The steam removes secretions and helps in getting the mucous out.



Chewing ginger daily can help you cure your runny nose it is a great treatment for the purpose. It drains the nose and maintains normal body temperature.

Menthol Steam: 

Add menthol to a bowl of steamy water. Now inhale the steam slowly. This is very effective home remedies for a runny nose. For best results, try mixing menthol with eucalyptus and tea tree oil.

Head Stand: 

Get into a position in which your head remains down and your leg towards the roof of the room. You can do it with the help of the wall of your room. It will unblock your sinuses. If you can do it, lie on the bed with your waist on the edge and your head is close to the floor.


A soup which is mixed with garlic, onions, peppers, horseradish and ginger will help open the sinuses. It is believed that these foods contain ingredients that can soften mucus making it less stick. Besides, you can put fresh basil in a cup of water and drink it.   It will lesson the inconvenience caused by the inflammation of the membranes.


Mix a tablespoon of mayonnaise with a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of black currant and raspberry jam. Infuse the mixture with 100 ml of boiling water and leave the mixture to brew for 15 minutes. Drink half a glass of the mixture 3 times a day. You will get the best result.
