How long will the recipient take to recover completely?

For the recovery after liver transplant, the patient is kept in the hospital only for a few days. But in a week or two, the full recovery is not possible. After your liver transplant surgery, the doctors may recommend you some medications for the next few months. Also, you will need to visit a doctor for a check-up as per the schedule is given by the doctor. In general, it takes 3 months of time for a person undergone liver surgery to get back to normal life. After 3 months of time, one can resume their work or job or education. But it is always good to take advice from the doctor regarding this. Also, the recovery in three months is only possible if the patient follows all the instructions and medications given by the doctor.

How will be the recipient’s life after liver transplantation?

In the initial 3 months, the quality of life after liver transplant will be difficult for the patients. As this time, they will be in the recovery stage, and there are many changes that the body takes during this time. As the new liver is implanted in the body, so it will take time for the immune system also to adjust with it. To avoid the immune system from rejecting the liver, the doctor may prescribe you some medicines. After the surgery, the surgeons and doctors will prepare you for the life after discharge. In the 10 days which you will spend in hospital after surgery, the doctors will guide you about how to take care and what to do and 

what not to do. By following all the instructions given by a doctor, you will be able to lead a normal life in the next 3 to 4 months.
